A good bankruptcy attorney will not try to “steer” you in the direction of bankruptcy. The meeting may very well end with the attorney recommending that you wait awhile or even completely forego the bankruptcy process altogether. Any good consultation will focus on your assets and how best to protect them as well as the discharge-ability of your debts.
